COMMISSIONING A NEW DESIGN
The process begins with you and a space. Once you have an idea of what pieces you are looking for contact Reed either through email or telephone. We then discuss the scope of your project and outline the requirements before beginning the design phase. A non-refundable $1000 design fee is required in order to start the design phase. We then produce three hand drawn perspective sketches. When a design is settled on, the design fee is subtracted from the initial deposit on the work. Sometimes these drawings need further revisions and can often times evolve into models and prototypes, this is particularly true for seating.
COMMISSIONING EXISTING WORK
Placing orders from Reed’s existing design collection can be done at anytime. Commissioned items can be customized in wood species, textiles or dimensions varying from what is pictured in the collection. Pricing is subject to change from the displayed collection price depending on materials chosen, specs or quantities.
LICENSING

CONSULTATION
Are you a designer looking to take an idea to market? We offer design and build consultation for every step of getting your product ready for market. Pricing is decided on a case by case basis.
TIMING
Lead times for work vary, given the nature of the work and the time required to make each piece. It is not uncommon for the shop to be booked six months in advance. Work is booked into our timeline based on a deposit.
PRICING & PAYMENT
Once the design of the piece, timeline and budget are agreed upon a 50% deposit is required before proceeding. The remaining 50% is paid upon completion of the work, prior to delivery or shipment. Reed, whenever possible, meets with the client in person and delivers the work himself. For greater distances and international orders much of the communication happens online or over the telephone. Wood samples and final work is crated and shipped at the clients cost when applicable.
